The One Photograph That Would Answer Six Questions

This is the shortest useful thing anyone could do for a reader of this site: turn the bottle round and press the shutter.

Quick answer

21 CFR 101.36 requires that the label of a dietary supplement that is offered for sale shall bear nutrition labeling in accordance with this regulation.

That labelling is the Supplement Facts panel, and on a bottle this size it is printed on the back.

This pack contains three photographs of the front and five listing graphics. None shows the back.

So every question below is open, and one photograph closes all of them.

The six questions

  1. What is the serving size, as regulated text? The written pack says one gummy. A panel says it in the form that counts.
  2. Is there a proprietary blend? The seller's own graphic uses the word blend. If that is literal, the panel carries a blend total and a list in descending order of weight — and a careful reader can compute a ceiling for every ingredient from it.
  3. Are zinc and vitamin D3 actually in it? They are named in the written pack and on no graphic. Both carry Daily Values, so a compliant panel declares each one separately, by weight, with a percentage.
  4. How much of anything is in a gummy? Not one milligram figure appears anywhere in this pack.
  5. What is the gummy set with? Gelatin or pectin. One is vegetarian and one is not, and a vegetarian mark was supplied with this product.
  6. What are the allergens? No statement was supplied.

Why this site will not fill the gap

It would be easy to write a plausible panel. Ten ingredients, a serving size of one gummy, a few hundred milligrams spread across the botanicals, zinc at something like 11 mg and vitamin D at something like 25 micrograms. It would read perfectly well and a reader would have no way at all to tell it from a transcription.

That is exactly why it is not here. The difference between a transcription and a plausible invention is invisible on the page and total in substance, and a site that blurs it once cannot be trusted on anything else it prints.

Still deciding?

The two numbers to hold on to: 60 days to ask for your money back, and the seller's own many wait 90 days before the product can be judged. The third number is the one that is missing — how much of anything is in the gummy.

Where to buy itThe 60-day window

  • Ten ingredients named, none with an amount
  • No Supplement Facts panel was supplied to this site
  • U.S. stocking partner for Alpha Erec

Prices on this site were supplied with the product pack. The checkout governs, and no delivery date is printed here because none was supplied.

What to do with the bottle when it arrives

  1. Turn it round.
  2. Photograph the panel square-on, in daylight, close enough to read the smallest line.
  3. Check whether zinc and vitamin D3 are on it.
  4. Check whether there is a blend total.
  5. Send it to [email protected], and this site will publish the transcription and say where it came from.

Questions

  • Could the panel be on the front, under a sticker?

It could be anywhere on the label. What is certain is that the three photographs supplied do not show it.

  • Does a missing photograph mean a missing panel?

No, and this site does not say it does. It means a missing photograph. The bottle in your hand may carry a perfectly compliant panel.

  • Why not ask the seller?

Worth doing, and the number is +1 (720) 619-8477. This site has published what it was given.

Every figure on it is transcribed from the supplied Supplement Facts panel and checked-out pack, derived by arithmetic from those, or taken from a source on the references page.
